An assembly of my coffee makers, accoutrements, accessories and other paraphernalia.

My coffee “stuff”

When I downsized and moved into a smaller space earlier this year, I donated, gave away, trashed or sold many of the items I had collected in my lifetime, keeping only what was I felt was “space-worthy”.

This was a grueling, time consuming task that was emotionally and physically painful at times. While the move and heaviest part of this project is now complete, what remains is in dire need of being organized since it is an untenable mess. With that, I am going through my various crates, boxes, shelves, closets, etc. to get an informal inventory of what remains as I begin the process of grouping and categorizing it all to get a handle on it.

That brings me to the title, picture and purpose of this post. In the discovery phase of this project, I began finding various coffee related items that had been lost, forgotten, semi retired, misplaced, etc. As I found them, I started setting them in one place until they all ended up all in an “assembly” of sorts as you you see in the picture here. I had never seen them all in one place before and had no idea there were so many. Still, there are some missing from here and others that I feel must be still around some where (porcelain Melita cone, carafe set).

As a coffee lover, these items are beautiful in both form and function, my living and personal coffee museum. For others it may be the sign of a disturbed mind. All that said, I am going to make myself some coffee and now have a number of great brewing method and accessory options at my fingertips that was not there yesterday!
