Good morning!

Pictured is my first cup of home brewed double espresso with my new machine, an espresso reintroduction of sorts.. I had a small espresso machine for many years that did okay with making single shot espressos and latte coffee, but we parted ways in one of my downsizing moves some time ago. It was adequate, but after we parted ways, I brewed my coffee in almost every way except espresso, which I would still drink on occasion when I was out at a coffee shop or restaurant.
I began missing espresso at home but was obsessed with the idea of only replacing my old espresso machine with the best manual espresso machine I could find, feeling that getting away from electric and having the control that comes with a manual machine would offer the best espresso making experience and shot I could pull. I was stuck there for years.
Finally, I realized that I was really not going to part with the money it would take to get a beautiful manual espresso machine and also was leaning away from the manual labor aspect of it since my free time has become scarce and has to be managed carefully.
So, with all that said, I finally broke down and bought a nice espresso machine that brews both single and double shot espressos. It froths milk as well those times I might want a latte. Also, in this, I have changed my morning routine from drinking brewed coffee with espresso. I start with a single shot upon awakening, followed later after breakfast with a double shot. This has been working very well and takes no more time and effort than with my previous coffee routine.
Now maybe some day, when I have all the time in the world and a minimalist lifestyle, I will get that magnificent manual espresso machine as the centerpiece of my abode and make a monk like daily morning coffee ceremony around pulling that perfect morning shot at daybreak to set the day right. Until then, I can dream. 😀
